Byron Wallen’s Four Corners – Sheffield Jazz

More than 10 years after his fourth album, ‘Meeting Ground’, for which he received nominations for Best Band and Best Album in the BBC Jazz Awards and Best Jazz Act in the MOBO Awards, Byron Wallen returns with his dazzling quartet Four Corners. The band, featuring Sheffield Jazz favourite Rob Luft on guitar, who were a great success on their last visit to Crookes on a snowy night in early 2019 were nominated for Jazz Ensemble of The Year in the 2020 Parliamentary Jazz Awards. For this gig they will feature music from Byron’s latest album ‘Portrait: Reflections on Belonging’ released last year to critical acclaim. “Danger UXB Wallen is back and he happens to be at the peak of his considerable, creative powers.” – Blues and Soul Music Magazine

Anti-Covid-19 measures: The anti-Covid-19 precautions we are taking to protect audiences can be seen on our website. The large size of the venue makes social distancing much easier to achieve. Additional measures to guard against infections include: strict audience size limit, advance booking only, service of drinks to tables at Crookes (no bar service), separate entrance and exit, managed queuing, wide corridors, ready access to sanitisers and enhanced washing facilities, modified heating and ventilation arrangements. Audience members are expected to wear face coverings on arriving and departing and when moving around the hall.
